THE 2009 McGLADREY TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The McGladrey Team Championship, the first nationwide grassroots best-ball amateur championship conducted by The PGA of America, will mark its third year with a new title and an enhancement to its format and a third consecutive return for the National Championship at Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort.
Championship Format
Local Qualifying Events
- Hosted at various locations, January through September
- Facilities with 18 or more teams participating will advance two teams to
Section Championships
- Hosted by PGA of America’s network of 41 sections, April through September
- PGA Professional(s) from the host site will be partnered with advancing team(s)
- Purses will vary between $13,000 and $30,000 (based on 2008 section participation)
National Championships
- Hosted at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina October 26-28, 2009
- Teams will compete on three of Pinehurst’s premier layouts: No. 8, No. 2 and No. 4
- $200,000 purse with amateurs receiving gift certificates
