AMATEURS - HANDICAP REQUIREMENTS

Handicap Index Requirement

For amateurs to participate in The McGladrey Team Championship they must have a handicap index thru one of the following means:

Amateurs must maintain their Handicap Index at a USGA licensed, Type 1 club/facility, preferably the hosting Club where The McGladrey Team Championship is being played whereby the host PGA Professional can easily manage, review and confirm the accuracy of such handicap or have their handicap certificate from another Type 1 club so that the hosting professional can verify such handicap index prior to allowing participation in the event.

Or

Amateurs must post their score and secure their Handicap Index thru a USGA licensed, Type 2, club/facility and bring the details of such handicap to the hosting PGA Professional so that he/she can accurately and easily verify such Handicap Index. Included with this handicap information must be the handicap Chairperson or Committee Member name and contact information for the host PGA professional to call and verify such Handicap Index in a timely and accurate manner.

Type 1 Golf Club: It is located at a single specific golf course with a valid USGA Course Rating and Slope Rating where a majority of the club’s events are played and the club’s scoring records reside.

Type 2 Golf Club: Its members are affiliated or known to one another via a business, fraternal, ethnic or social organization. The majority of the club members had an affiliation prior to organizing the club.

For an amateur to participate in The McGladrey Team Championship they must have an approved handicap that has been obtained thru a Type 1 or Type 2 USGA licensed Golf Club.
